Man charged over machete attack
A man was remanded in custody today accused of a machete attack in north Belfast.
Caolan Curley is charged with assaulting and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to a man at the weekend.
The 18-year-old, of Verner Street, Belfast, faces a further count of having an offensive weapon in public, namely a machete.
All of the alleged offences relate to an incident at Edlingham Street in the early hours of Sunday.
A man was taken to hospital suffering from facial injuries following the suspected attack.
Curley did not seek bail as he was brought before Belfast Magistrates' Court.
He was remanded in custody to appear again by video-link on later this week.
