Man charged with attempted murder after Banbridge attack

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a serious assault in Banbridge.

The 22-year-old has also been charged with criminal damage, theft and assaults on police.  A 20-year-old man has also been charged with GBH with intent and theft.

They are both due to appear at Banbridge Magistrates’ Court (sitting in Newry) on Monday.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

On Friday afternoon a man aged in his 40s was seriously assaulted in the Scarva Walk area. He was treated in hospital for head and facial injuries.
