Man charged with attempted murder over Armagh stabbing

A 28-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder in relation to a stabbing in Armagh.

A 30-year-old was stabbed in the Killuney Drive area of the city on Sunday.

He was taken to hospital and his injuries described as "potentially life-threatening", by police.

The 28-year-old man is set to appear in Armagh Magistrates' Court later this morning.

He has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
