Man charged with running Derry brothel
A man was given 24 hours to hand over his passport to police yesterday after he was charged with running a brothel in Londonderry.
Paul McGrory is charged with managing a brothel in a rented house in Argyle Street, Rosemount, on dates between February 8 and November 16 of last year.
The 52-year-old defendant from Ard Fada in the Ardmore area of the Waterside is also charged that between the same dates he converted criminal property, namely £16,000 in cash, contrary to the Proceeds of Crime Act.
A detective told the court he believed that he could connect the defendant to the two charges.
McGrory was released on his own bail of £500, and the case was adjourned until April 26.
As part of his bail conditions the defendant was ordered to surrender his passport immediately and ordered to continue to reside at his current address in Ardmore.
