Man dies after incident at Belfast Harbour
A man has died following an incident in the Belfast Harbour estate.
It happened at Stormont Wharf where it is understood the man was trapped.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service were called after 8am to the incident.
A Rapid Response Vehicle, a doctor, an A&E crew and a Hazardous Area Response Officer attended.
A spokesperson for Belfast Harbour said: “Belfast Harbour can confirm that there was an incident this morning (Tuesday 21st March), on Stormont Wharf and that a fatality has occurred.
“The Health and Safety Executive is at the scene and next of kin have been informed.”
A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was on-going.
The NIFRS received a call at 8.20am to the incident.
Fire Appliances from Whitla and Central Fire Stations are in attendance.
