Man dies in Co Down road crash

A man has died following a two vehicle road crash in Co Down.

The 36-year-old was killed in the collision between a Vauxhall Vectra and Ford Focus at Magheraknock Road, Ballynahinch.

A 32-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital. A five year old girl also injured in the crash is in a stable condition.

The incident happened at around 7.30pm on Saturday.

PSNI Inspector Barney O'Connor said: "Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the Vauxhall Vectra and Ford Focus cars before the collision or came across the scene immediately afterwards."

The Magheranock Road is likely to remain closed for much of Sunday.
