Man escapes injury after shots fired at house in Lurgan

A 61-year-old man has escaped injury after a number of shots were fired at a house in Lurgan.

It happened in the Derry Street area in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Just after midnight it was reported that a number of shots had been fired at a house in the area.

Camille Capraz, who is originally from Turkey but as lived mo st of his life in Ireland was at home at the time.

He was uninjured, however damage was caused to a front window and door of the property.

Investigations are ongoing and at this stage a motive is yet to be established.

Detective Inspector Will Tate said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact Detectives at Lurgan on the non-emergency number 101.

"Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
