A man has escaped uninjured after a petrol bomb was fired at his home in Northern Ireland.

The 22-year-old was home alone at the time of the attack in Coagh, Co Tyrone, at around 1.40am on Monday.

Police said the front door of the property in Windsor Terrace was scorched.

Detective Sergeant Mark Crothers said officers are investigating the circumstances around the incident.

"We are working to establish a motive for this incident and we are asking anyone with information to get in touch with us by calling the non-emergency number 101," he added.
