A man has been extradited from Sweden to Northern Ireland as part of an investigation into controlling prostitution and human trafficking three years ago.

The suspect, 33, was detained under a European Arrest Warrant and is expected to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning on a series of charges including human trafficking and controlling prostitution, PSNI detective inspector Mark Bell said.

Last week a 30-year-old woman was extradited from Sweden on similar charges and was remanded in custody by Belfast Magistrates' Court.
