Man fined £300 for abusive texting
A man has been fined a total of £300 after sending text messages to his former partner telling her he would slash her face with a bottle, knock her teeth out and “cut out” her tattoo.
Shane Boucher (22), of King's Lane, Ballykelly, admitted sending threatening and abusive messages to his ex-partner on September 4 and 7.
Limavady Magistrates Court was told that the injured party had received messages from Boucher, her former partner.
When police went to Boucher's home they found the phone in question.
Defence solicitor John Fahy said the relationship had just ended and Boucher was annoyed that his former partner had taken up with someone else already.
The solicitor said that to add to Boucher's woe, he was told that the new boyfriend was wearing some of his clothes.
He said he had sent the messages after drinking and he now accepted that the relationship was over.
Boucher was fined a total of £300.
