Man found injured in city street

An injured man found unconscious on a Belfast street is in a serious condition in hospital.

The 34-year-old was discovered near the Shankill Leisure Centre in the west of the city at around 7.30am on Sunday.

Police said he had injuries to his head and face and may have been lying where he was found for hours.

They have identified the man and his family are with him in hospital.

Investigators are trying to piece together what happened the man and how he was injured.

They have asked anyone who knows of his movements since around 10pm on Saturday to contact them at Tennent Street PSNI station.
