Man found lying on road 'critical'

An 18-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after being found lying on a road in Co Armagh.

The teenager, who had suffered head, back and foot injuries, was discovered in the Killylea Road area of Armagh at about 10.15pm on Saturday.

He was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital but was later transferred to the Royal Victoria in Belfast where he remains in a critical condition.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said detectives were working to establish exactly what happened.

He said: " Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and police would ask anyone who may have travelled along the Killylea Road in the time leading up to the discovery of the injured man and noticed anything that may be of assistance to the investigation to contact police in Armagh."
