Man held in fraud probe

A 36-year-old man has been arrested as part of a major police investigation into fraud.

He was detained by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's (PSNI) organised crime branch in the Londonderry area earlier on suspicion of trying to defraud an insurance company.

The PSNI said since May, 19 people had been arrested in connection with the ongoing probe into money laundering and insurance fraud.

A police spokesman said: "This investigation is expected to continue for some time."

The suspect has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.
