Detectives investigating a suspected UVF murder in east Belfast 20 years ago have made an arrest.
Joseph Reynolds, a 40-year-old painter from west Belfast, was travelling to work when his van was ambushed by gunmen in Sydenham Road on October 12 1993. Three other people were injured.
Several people were arrested, but no-one was charged.
New information has led to the case being reopened.
Police detained a 50-year-old man today and he has been taken to Antrim police station for questioning.
Catholic Mr Reynolds, who was a sub-contractor, was on his way to the Shorts aircraft factory with a number of workmates when their vehicle was attacked.
The UVF claimed responsibility.
Police officers have distributed leaflets and posters and asked for help from the local community as part of the investigation.
