Man held over police document theft

A 62-year-old man has been arrested by detectives investigating the theft of police documents.

The suspect was detained after officers raided a property in the Hillsborough area of Co Down.

Another search was conducted in the south of England.

A PSNI spokesman said: "A number of items have been removed for further examination."

It is understood police do not believe the security of any individual has been compromised as a result of the alleged data breach.

The suspect has been taken for questioning to Lisburn police station.
