A man has been taken to hospital after he was attacked in south Belfast on Thursday morning.

The 43-year-old was set upon by two men, thought to be aged in their 20s in Deramore Avenue at around 6.30am.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy said: “I would ask anyone who saw two men in the Ormeau Road area around this time to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

"Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
