Man injured in city crossbow attack

A man has been shot with a crossbow in Belfast, police said.

Another man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the attack in the south of the city.

The 29-year-old victim was sitting in a parked car in the Belgravia Avenue area when he was shot at around 5.20pm yesterday evening.

He was struck in the arm and taken to hospital for treatment to an injury that is not life-threatening.

A 29-year-old woman who was also in the car at the time escaped unhurt.

The arrested man, aged 28, has been detained for questioning about a number of offences, including attempted murder.

Police have appealed to any witnesses or anyone with information about the attack to come forward.
