Man is charged after Syria return
A 25-year-old man from Londonderry arrested by detectives investigating alleged activity in Syria has been charged with explosives and firearms offences.
Eamon Bradley, from the Creggan area of the city, faces counts of possessing explosives with intent to endanger life and receiving training in the use of firearms and explosives.
He was arrested at his home in the city yesterday.
Earlier this year his family expressed fears he had gone to Syria to fight in the country's civil war. It is believed he returned to Derry a few days ago.
Detective Superintendent Kevin Geddes of the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: "The charges are in connection with an arrest in Derry area on Thursday November 6 relating to alleged activity in Syria earlier this year.
"These charges show our ongoing commitment in investigating serious crime and keeping people safe."
Bradley is due in court in Derry tomorrow morning.
