A man who glassed another man in the face, simply because he bumped into him on a nightclub dancefloor, was yesterday jailed for a year after he agreed to spend a further year on probation.
Belfast Crown Court heard that Jonathan Greig was out with friends in a city centre nightclub when he "bumped" into 31-year-old Christopher McMullan.
Despite apologising for the inadvertant contact, McMullan swung his right hand at Mr Greig's face, smashing a glass into its left side, leaving two deep lacerations.
McMullan, from Forthriver Parade in Belfast, pleaded guilty to a single charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm on March 24, 2008.
Judge Tom Burgess also ordered that McMullan undertake anger management and alcohol awareness courses.
