Man on gun and explosives charges
A 27-year-old man has been charged with weapons offences following the discovery of a cache of guns, ammunition, and grenades in Londonderry last December.
Detained by officers from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch in Meadowbank Court near Queen's Quay in the city on Saturday morning, he is accused of two counts of possessing explosives in suspicious circumstances, specifically military high explosive hand grenades.
He has also been charged with three counts of possessing a firearm for having a sub machine gun, two pistols and firearm magazines, as well as two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon namely a stun gun and CS gas spray.
He is due to appear at Derry Magistrates Court today.
