A 32-year-old man remains critically ill in hospital ten days after being assaulted on Templemore Avenue in east Belfast.

The attack took place around 2.30am on Sunday March 6.

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal to speak to a man spotted in the area at the time.

Detective Inspector Joanne Harris described the man they are looking for as being around 6ft2ins tall with broad shoulders, short light brown hair and wearing a knee length coat.

"Police would like to speak to a male person who was reportedly in the area in and around the time this assault took place (approximately between 2.15am/2.30am), as he may have information which would help with police enquiries," she said.

"He is described as being approximately 6’2”, broad shoulders of medium to heavy build, short light brown/fair hair and clean shaven and wearing a knee length coat.

"I would ask this person or anyone else who may have information to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime, Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101."
