Man snatched off street escapes

A 23-year-old man escaped unharmed after being abducted and bundled into a car.

The man was walking along the Antrim Road in north Belfast last night when a car with four men pulled up beside him and took him off the street.

Police said the car, dark coloured and possibly a Vauxhall Vectra or Volkswagen Passat, drove out of the city to Crumlin where the man managed to escape and raise the alarm.

It is believed four men were in the car when the attempted abduction took place. Detectives at Tennent Street are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
