A man in his 30s has been stabbed during a house party in Co Antrim.

The attack happened in Argenta Walk, Ballymena, in the early hours of Monday morning.

The victim is being treated in hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries to his back.

Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Chief Inspector Stephen McCauley said: "We believe an altercation of some kind has taken place in the house, which has led to the man being stabbed and a number of males then hurriedly leaving the property.

"We are keen to identify these males and are appealing to anyone who was at the party or anyone who has any information to contact detectives."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the PSNI on 101.
