Man stabbed in stomach in east Belfast
A man was stabbed in the stomach as he walked through east Belfast in the early hours of Friday morning.
The victim, a man aged in his 40s, was walking in the Castlereagh Road area shortly after 1am when he was approached by three males.
They asked him for a cigarette and then stabbed him in the stomach.
Detective Constable Weatherald said: "The man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
"It is believed that a sum of money and other items were taken during the incident."
He appealed to witnesses to call Musgrave Police Station on the 101 non-emergency number.
