A man was stabbed in the arm during a burglary at his Belfast home last week.

Police only released details of the incident on Monday.

A PSNI spokesman said a man walked into the home on Ainsworth Avenue at around 6pm on Tuesday, July 19 and attacked the occupier with a knife.

The attacker was described as 6ft, medium build, aged about 28 years old, wearing a grey Mackenzie hooded top, blue jeans and with light ginger hair.

Detective Inspector Nigel Snoddy appealed to anyone who has information about this incident to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1415 of 19/07/16. Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
