Man struck on the back of the head and knocked to the ground during Bangor robbery

A man aged in his 20s was struck on the back of the head and knocked to the ground during a robbery in Bangor.

Police said the man was walking on Dufferin Avenue between 9 and 10pm on Thursday evening when he was struck on the back of the head and knocked over.

While on the ground he was assaulted by three males who took a sum of cash, a phone and jewellery from him before making off on foot.

The man suffered cuts and bruising as a result of the incident.

Detective Sergeant Melanie McGrory said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident to contact detectives in Bangor on 101 quoting reference number 1062 03/06/17 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
