Man taken to hospital after fire in Belfast City Centre shop

A man has been taken to hospital after a blaze broke out at a Belfast city centre shop.

On Tuesday December 9 at 9.09am the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) were called to a fire at J Braddell & Sons Ltd fishing tackle shop on North Street, Belfast.

Eight fire appliances were sent including a Command Support Unit to deal with the incident.

Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and one man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

A NIFRS spokesman said: "All persons have been accounted for and the fire was extinguished at 10:32am. 

"The investigation is now ongoing to determine the cause of the fire. The incident has now been passed to the Police Service of Northern Ireland.”
