Man taken to hospital after incident outside Maddens bar in Belfast

A man has been taken to hospital for treatment following an incident near Maddens Bar in Belfast city centre.

The incident happened in the Marquis Street area at around 4pm this afternoon.

A man aged in his 30s suffered cuts and bruises to his head.

Two males are reported to have fled the scene shortly after the attack.

Forensics recovered a knife and a screwdriver at the scene.

Officers would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact police in Musgrave on 101.
