A man has been left badly shaken after he was threatened at gunpoint by masked raiders in Co Antrim.

It happened at a house in the Thornleigh Park area of Randalstown on Tuesday but details have only just been released.

The gang demanded money and made off with a legally held shotgun.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said: "It was reported that at around 8.30pm on Tuesday evening, a number of masked men wearing dark clothing forced entry to the house, threatened the male occupant and demanded money.

"One of the men was reported to have been armed with a firearm.

"They then proceeded to ransack the house before making off with a legally held shotgun. The occupant was not harmed during the incident but was left badly shaken."
