Man threatens to 'bite police officers' ears off'
A man who used obscene language to police in front of young children was jailed for eight months when he pleaded guilty via videolink at Omagh Magistrate’s Court.
Brian Irvine, with addresses at Fairview Heights and Omagh Road, Dromore, was in custody in Maghaberry prison during the hearing.
The court heard that, in April this year, police in Irvinestown were approached by the defendant who used obscene language within clear hearing distance of young children.
He was told to go home but returned to the scene with his belt undone and trousers unbuttoned.
When officers approached him he told them: “I haven’t done anything. If you arrest me I’ll bite your ears off.”
His solicitor said that the offences were alcohol-related.
