A man has admitted taking pictures of a teenage girl he is alleged to have sexually abused.
Patrick John McMahon had been due to go on trial at Belfast Crown Court on Tuesday accused of sexual activity with a child and taking indecent pictures of her.
But defence lawyer Dennis Boyd asked for some of the charges to be put to his client again.
McMahon, from India Street in south Belfast, then pleaded guilty to 14 charges of taking indecent photographs of the girl on a date between June 30 and July 25 2009.
Prosecuting lawyer Kate McKay told the court that given those pleas, she was applying to have the five charges of sexual activity with a child between 13-16 years old left on the books.
Judge Kinney will pass sentence later this month and ordered McMahon to sign the sex offenders’ register.
