Man’s body found in Lagan

Police are trying to establish the circumstances of the death of a man whose body was recovered from the River Lagan.

The man was found floating in the water near the tow-path in the Drumbeg area of Dunmurry.

A member of the public alerted emergency services shortly after 7.30pm on Tuesday, June 30.

Police have appealed for help in identifying the man. He has been described as 5ft 7in tall, of stout build, has short brown hair and a goatee beard.

A post-mortem is due to take place today (wednesday)
