A man has had part of his ear bitten off during an assault in south Belfast.

The 46-year-old and two other men aged 57 and 55 were attacked outside a bar at Castle Street last night.

The PSNI said officers were called to the area just after 8.30pm following reports that a number of people were fighting in the street.

The men in their 50s were treated for minor head injuries.

Inspector Helen Garrett said: "I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident or has any information to contact police at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101 or alternatively crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
