A man has had part of his earlobe ripped after being bitten during an attack in east Belfast.

The 31-year-old was set upon while walking on Albertbridge Road at about 11.15pm on Saturday.

Another man, aged 30, and a 28-year-old woman were also injured.

Police are hunting a number of men believed to have been involved in the violent assault close to the Lord Street junction.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault or has information about it, to contact detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime at Musgrave Street on 101.

"Alternatively, information can be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
