Martin McGuinness: I'll meet Queen during Northern Ireland visit
Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness has confirmed he will meet the Queen when she visits Northern Ireland later this month.
It will be the third time the Deputy First Minister and former IRA leader has met Her Majesty.
Confirming the meeting, Mr McGuinness said that "despite current difficulties" he was "determined to provide positive forward thinking political leadership".
"In my capacity as Deputy First Minister and as a representative of all our people I will be meeting with Queen Elizabeth," he said.
"The visit by Queen Elizabeth is an opportunity to demonstrate mutual respect and to further build on the process of reconciliation. Despite the current difficulties I am determined to provide positive forward thinking political leadership."
The Queen and Prince Philip will be in Northern Ireland between June 23 and 25.
In April Mr McGuinness joined in a toast to the Queen during a state banquet at Windsor Castle in London.
