McGuinness launches £2.5m training project
Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness spoke of his hopes for thousands of more jobs in Londonderry as he launched a new £2.5m project in the city.
Mr McGuinness was at the launch of the Derry 2020 Project, which aims to create a grass roots model for employment and learning.
Speaking at the event in the Glen area, Mr McGuinness said: “The real strength of this project is its emphasis on tailoring education, training and careers advice to the talents of individuals.”
Led by Derry organisation TRIAX, the project aims to upskill and recruit up to 2,250 participants from across the city council area.
