Meet the heroic police dog Jake who this week saved the life of a vulnerable young woman
The PSNI has praised one of its police dogs, revealing that Jake saved the life of a vulnerable young women.
Police dogs may suffer the stereotypical view of being fierce, but Jake certainly showed his gentler side this week as he came to the rescue of a young woman.
The PSNI said Jake and his handler were responding the reports of a missing person in Belfast on Saturday night.
They were working with a PSNI helicopter, but it was Jake who found the missing woman.
It is understood that she had attempted to take her own life. Thanks to Jake being able to find her so quickly, she was able to be rescued, CPR administered and rushed to hospital.
The PSNI revealed on its Facebook page that the young woman is now recovering well from her ordeal.
"Well done to PD Jake and his handler," they added/
