Men armed with taser steal Royal Mail van from Belfast postmen

Two men armed with a taser have stolen a Royal Mail van from two postmen in Belfast.

The robbery happened in the Tyndale Drive area in Old Park, North Belfast on Saturday morning.

They made off in the van at about 9.50am and set it on fire shortly afterwards on Crumlin Road.

Police believe post bags may may have been stolen from inside the post van before it was set alight

Detective Inspector McHaffie said the postmen were not injured during the incident.

He urged witnesses or anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area to contact Detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101.
