Men charged over attempted bomb attack on Waterfoot Hotel
Two men have been charged with offences in connection with an attempted bomb attack at a Londonderry hotel which had been due to hold a police recruitment event.
The men, aged 34 and 41, and from the Republic of Ireland have been charged with possessing explosives, preparing for terrorist acts and conspiring to cause an explosion.
They were arrested in Omagh, County Tyrone yesterday and are due to appear at Londonderry Magistrates' Court today.
As is usual procedure, all procedures will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
A bomb was found in the grounds of the Waterfoot Hotel in Londonderry in October, a week ahead of a PSNI "familiaristion" event.
The hotel later cancelled the booking over safety fears and the event held at another venue.
