Michaela McAreavey's father Mickey Harte will not attend trial
Mickey Harte has decided not to travel to Mauritius for the trial of two hotel workers accused of murdering his daughter Michaela McAreavey while she was on honeymoon.
A brother of the 27 year-old school teacher will instead attend next week’s court case alongside her husband John McAreavey.
Mr McAreavey’s father and sister will also accompany him to the island where his wife was killed on their honeymoon in January 2011.
A spokesman for the Harte and McAreavey families has confirmed that Mr Harte, the Tyrone football manager, will definitely not be attending the trial which is expected to last for at least two weeks.
Mr McAreavey is one of 30 witnesses due to give evidence during the murder trial.
