Michaela murder trial: John McAreavey rejects honeymoon hotel room offer
The grieving widower of murdered teacher Michaela McAreavey has turned down an offer by the hotel where his wife was murdered to stay during the trial of the men accused of killing her.
The Legends Hotel in Mauritius is believed to have offered heartbroken John a room while he attends the trial into his beloved wife’s killing in 2011.
But it is understood the Tyrone man would not have been able to bear staying at the place where he lost 27-year-old Michaela on their honeymoon for its painful memories.
John’s family are said to be so concerned for his welfare during the trial which commmences next Tuesday, that they have arranged for him to stay at a secret religious treat for the duration of his stay.
