Police have renewed appeals for information about two Chinese women who disappeared almost two years ago.

Ni, Xiaofang, 31 and Ni, Zhiling, 28, did not return to their tour bus after visiting the Giant's Causeway in Co Antrim in July 2014.

It is believed the pair may have travelled to the Republic of Ireland.

Detective Inspector Soren Stewart, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, said: "The two women, then 30-year-old Ni, Xiaofang and 26-year-old Ni, Zhiling, failed to return to their tour bus whilst visiting the popular tourist attraction on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.

"We believe they may have travelled to the Republic of Ireland and our priority is to make contact with both women to establish that they are safe and well."

Both women are described as being about 5ft 2ins tall, and of a slim build.

DI Stewart added: "We would ask them, or anyone who knows of their whereabouts, to contact police at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101."
