MLA Anna Lo and Dunmurry children ready for One World Run

South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has launched this year's One World Run alongside pupils from St Coleman's PS Dunmurry who take part each year.

Belfast One World Run – founded in 1987 – was inspired by Bob Geldof's Run The World event of the previous year - to raise money to combat poverty in the developing world. To date, it has raised some £162,000.

A cross community event its proceeds are divided equally between Concern, Trocaire, Oxfam and Christian Aid.

This year's run will be held on May 19 at 3pm at the Ozone Centre in the Ormeau Park. There are three events for participants to choose from – the 10K run, 3K run and 3K family fund run/walk. There will also be live music, refreshments and souvenir t-shirts for sale.

Entry fees are £25 family (max of 5); £10 adult; £5 unemployed/child.
