More than 50 firefighters tackle blaze on Derry ship
More than fifty firefighters have battled a ship fire in Lisahally Port in Londonderry.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service got the call at around 6.55 this morning.
Nine fire appliances attended the scene working closely with the Port Authority and the ship's crew to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
Local crews and specialist NIFRS teams from Belfast worked to bring the fire in one of the cabins under control
NIFRS spokesman said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hosereel jets dealt with the fire, working closely with the local Port Authority during the incident. All crew members were accounted for and there are no reports of any injuries.
"Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 8:23am.”
