A motorcyclist is in a 'critical' condition in hospital after his bike collided with a car in Co Antrim.

The crash happened at the Shore Road at Glynn outside Larne earlier this afternoon.

According to spokesman for the ambulance service the accident happened shortly after 4.30pm - with two response vehicles sent to the scene.

The victim was then taken to Antrim Area Hospital.

A spokeswoman for the Northern Trust described his condition as "critical".

Meanwhile in a separate road crash in Londonderry, three people have been taken to Altnagelvin Hospital after a collision at the Ballyarnet Road at it's junction with the Alder Road.

Four response vehicles were dispatched to the scene shortly after 5pm this afternoon.

Two of those taken to hospital have since been released and a third remains in a stable condition.
