Motorcyclists killed in crashes

Two motorcyclists were killed in separate accidents over the weekend in Northern Ireland.

In one incident a 44-year-old man who was involved in a crash on the Deerpark Road in Bellaghy, Co Londonderry died, police said.

The accident was reported to police at about 8.30pm on Saturday night.

In an earlier incident a 49-year-old man riding a motorbike died after a crash in Cushendun, Co Antrim.

Police said the man's bike crashed into a Suzuki SX4 on the Loughareema Road at about 10.35am on Saturday morning.

Officers have appealed for witnesses to both incidents.

Twenty-six people have died on Northern Ireland's roads this year, five of them riding motorbikes. Fifty-six people were killed on the roads last year.
