Mourne Mountains walker rescued after breaking ankle
A man who broke his ankle while walking in freezing conditions in the Mourne mountains has been rescued.
The victim had been walking on the slopes of Slieve Bernagh with family and friends early yesterday afternoon when he fell, sustaining the injury.
A 19-strong Mourne mountain rescue team responded and the injured walker was stretchered to an ambulance for onward transfer to hospital. The PSNI assisted with the three-hour operation.
