Victim: James Hughes

The funeral is taking place of a murder victim found dead in a Belfast tower block.

James Hughes, 62, was discovered on the 14th floor of Divis Tower on Sunday November 6.

Mr Hughes was a resident of the flats and was found after the alarm was raised by a member of the public.

He was described by friends as a "harmless big guy".

John Leathem, chairman of the Divis and Falls residents association said: "James was a gentleman, he was eccentric in his way, but he wouldn't have done you any harm.

"Whatever happened, one way or the other, he ended up dead."

SDLP councillor Tim Attwood said: "This is a tragic death of a well liked and well loved man. The residents of Divis Tower are deeply shocked by this incident and will do everything they can in support."
