Mural tribute to the heroes of east Belfast
A new piece of artwork celebrating the creative talents of well-known people connected to east Belfast has been unveiled.
The Luminaries and Legends mural created by local artist Dee Craig on the gable wall of the EastSide Visitor Centre at the junction of the Upper Newtownards Road and Connswater Street features well-known faces and places connected to east Belfast.
They include blues legend Sir Van Morrison, Chronicles of Narnia author CS Lewis, Northern Ireland international footballers George Best and Danny Blanchflower, Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore, and musician David Holmes.
Mr Craig said: "I hope the artwork I have created is viewed as a celebration of the iconic people and places connected to east Belfast and inspires all who see it."
