Murder probe after man found dead in garage

A murder investigation has been launched in to the death of a man whose body was found in a garage.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland is investigating a possible link between this murder in Coalisland, Co Tyrone, and an incident in the same area on October 14, when a man is reported to have been assaulted and shot in the leg.

The 32 year-old man's body was found in a garage in the Moor Road area on October 15. All of his next of kin have yet to be contacted.

Police have released few details but said a post-mortem examination has been held. It is understood the dead man has links to eastern Europe.

Detective Chief Inspector Lee McNevison, who is leading the murder investigation, said: "If anyone saw anything unusual in the Moor Road area of Coalisland in recent days we would like them to contact detectives at Dungannon police station by calling the non-emergency number 101.

"Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
